TSP is engaged in activities relating to re-orienting of higher education for sustainability. A major component of the latter is creating sustainable campuses by making the physical infrastructure “green” “sustainable” and reducing the “carbon foot print” of our higher education institutions. However, TSP Asia is very clear that mere greening of physical infrastructure is insufficient. Equally, if not more important is interventions to ensure that attitudes, mindsets and behaviors of faculty, students and college staff needed for sustainable futures are addressed. Greening of campuses alone has no value.
Our major objective is to make educational institutions go “off the grid”. To make educational institution campuses green – self sufficient by taking them off the grid for energy, water and waste – TSP provides consultancies for the latter. TSP Asia also assists in re-orienting curricula, develop attitudes and mind sets for sustainability among students and faculty. The concept is to build a ‘whole campus’ approach and work at the core of values and transformation.
