Dr.Premakumara G.S. is an Associate Professor of Economics, at the Sir M.Visvesvaraya. PG Centre, University of Mysore, Mandya. His research and teaching is focussed on Energy with special emphasis on renewable energy and rural energy security.
He was awarded the Best Researcher in Applied Econometrics by University of Mysore 2017 and his forte is Data Analysis, Model Building and Interpretation of Results and is very adept with software such as SPSS, EViews, Gretl and others.
His PhD work was on ‘Power Sector Reforms’. He has done work for the World Resources Institute (WRI) on Clean Energy. He has contributed chapters to books in areas such as Power Sector Restructuring and Reforms in Karnataka. He leads TSP on Energy related research, rural field studies and capacity building for teachers of higher education institutions on Data Analysis, Modelling and Research Methodology for academic excellence. He is Visiting Scholar of the Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla.
